Atari Boy 11 Posted July 12, 2010 I want to protect the bonnet of my 205 from stone chips and I am considering fitting some stone protection film. Does anyone have any experience of any particular brands or how hard it is to apply oneself? Many thanks Jonny
welshpug 1,646 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) I'd imagine its just reasonably thick Vinyl, in which case it wont be too bad to do a 205's bonnet, most can be applied wet which gives makes it a lot easier to get on without bubbles and creases. Ask AdamB, he does vinyl graphics for a living and has wrapped his 306 Rallye v6 a few times amongst other things, he can give you an idea of the costs and how long things last. edit, http://www.cvgwrapping.com/ he is on here from his 205 days but I don't think he visits too often, he is a regular on the 306gti6 forum. joe1joe 3 Posted July 12, 2010 you dont want to use thick vinyl as it will not let uv light through. so when yu remove it you will have two diffrent shades of paint. venture sheild is what you want....... i have it on my bonnet looks fine, need to be carefull when waxing
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted July 12, 2010 A friend has Amourfend on his Elise http://www.armourfend.co.uk/ It didn't help him when he put it into a barrier in the snow!!!
McDude 33 Posted July 12, 2010 I also had armourfend on both my Elises - works well and doesn't look too bad. On the Elise you don't even cover the whole bonnet and even with the line it looked good. I'd imagine a simple shape like a 205 bonnet would work well.
