Turbo Mi16 205

Hi Guys, I am new

 

I recently bought a 1988 205 with a good Mi16 conversion here in OZ. Can I get an idea of how many turbo Mi16's are around?

I can post pics once I have done a bit more work on it.

i think there is a decent manifold available over here (dp springs to mind), then it is just a question of which turbo, feeds, intercooling, managment and mapping.

 

there are a few about, do a search and see how you get on with that.

i know of atleast 6 mi16 turbo converted localy over the last 5 years i know of one currently beign built thats looking at well over 300bhp too

Most people turbo a GTI6 engine now compared to the alloy 1.9 Mi16s. If you are looking for a manifold, get in touch with Stew205 / Baker BM as he had a lovely stainless Mi one for sale at Pugfest

This was built/paid for by an old forum member and few years back 2003? who has now sold it. The new owner has recently joined the forum but I'm afraid I can't remember his name!

I think it might be Stebbs (http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showuser=12975) as I seem to remember the topic about it and realising he was not too far away from me. Could be wrong but he definitely has an Mi16 turbo.

Thanks everyone, I suspected there would be some around. Concerning power, my car is running a seriously detuned/low boost 230hp for the sake of reliability and not being a w^&ker. I cant understand any 205 possibly using anymore than 250hp without stupid wheelspin/certain death. I would love to hear from anyone who enjoys more power than that, and how they set it up.

A company over here called Pug1off built a 500+bhp 205 turbo, heres a video:

that's a gti6 with a silly mount spent on it, and its not very quick as all it does when it hits boost is spin the wheels

Hi guys yeah mine is an mi16 alloy block turbo (old NMS one) i have been rebuilding it for months now...one thing lead to another that lead to another. Any questions just ask. I should be fully ready to put it on the road again at the end of this month. Ive the manifold off to be skimmed as it was warped when i had it made but its flat now. It will be mapped and should be around the 280-300bhp mark. Then at the end of august i`ll be taking it to the nurburgring so i`ll be able to tell yo a lot more about it.

Hey Ren, I`m regularly out near leicester. my town has nothing. So i have to visit places like Spoox and Constella for some parts. If you let me know if there`s a regular meet then i`ll drop over. It`d be great to meet some of you guys, learn more about 205`s and maybe pass on some of my knowledge. Do you guys ever go on track days over here because Nurburgs a bit of a trip lol.

from what i hear the pug10ff "made" 500bhp not HAS 500bhp.

ie the boost wound up for the rollers for the day. most turbo 16v cars could manage that.

 

again gti-6 turbo but have a look at this http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=100495

makes 380bhp at wheels last time it was rollerd before last upgrades. gets pushed to its limits every time its out (track car) and holds strong.

The meet is held on the 1st Monday of the month at The Foxhunter Pub around 8pm, it's just down the road from Spoox so hopefully you know where it is. Not organised any track days yet though.
