Rear Engine Mount

can any give any tips on pressing out the rear boush in the rear engin mout and the shape of the alloy housing is a pain.

You need two bits of tube, one the diameter of the bush casing and one large enough for the bush to pass through.

You could just use a holesaw to take most of it out and then batter the metal ring out with a hammer and chisel, but yeah an awkward thing to press out.

ideal thanks folks. is the bush the same as the gti one as i cant find the rear one on its own for the tu

Get the TI motorsport polybush lower mount if its a tu, easy to fit as it comes in 2 halves then just knock in the metal sleeve :lol:

The steel sleeve seizes into the aluminium housing. I found the only way to get it out was to cut the rubber centre out and chisel the sleeve out!

Mine pretty much fell out when i changed it, probably the easiest bush change i have ever done.
