Flywheel Cover Plate

Recommended Posts

wah

Hi all,

I noticed last week whilst crawling about under my 205 1.9 that there should be a plate covering a inspection hole to view the flywheel, it has been fitted with a BE3 box and who ever has done the job obviously hasn't bothered to replace it !!, what I'm wondering is if anybody has one of these kicking about in the workshop / gagrage / shed that I could have or even know where I could get hold of one !!!

Si

There are two types of these so you need to make sure you get the right one. I must have a BE1 one as the nice powdercoated one I have does not seem to fit my BE3 box :) This probably explains the reason yours is missing!

The is a difference between 1.6 and 1.9 due to the block stiffening plate.

The difference isn't between BE1 and BE3, it's between 1.6 and 1.9. The 1.9 has a shorter plate, otherwise it would catch on the bottom of the sump spacer.

Ahh ok. So I just have a powdercoated 1.6 one (though it would have fitted my engine originally before I fitted the alloy sump).

What is the difference between the part numbers then?

1.6 + non stiffener plate equipped XU9's, plus diesel engines and XU10's where applicable;

2107.86:

all stiffener plate equipped XU9's, this would be the 1.9 MI16 and most 1.9 205 engines.

2107 A5

which is NFP as it happens.

IIRC the low compression engines did not use them.

Although everyone seems to know this already ill just clarify, you will find it in the clutch plate/cover section or as servicebox puts it "CLUTCH WTHT RET MECH PLATE BEARING BUFFER" <--------that section; psa being concise as always!
