Restoring Bumper To Black !

Recommended Posts

blniasgti

I was wondering about peoples opinions and experiences with restoring the bumpers back to black ?

I can see the previous owner of my GTi has used some sort of black wax/gel to stain the bumpers back to black but now after numerous washes it has started to fade/come off so i was hoping other users may help with any product names and techniques to restoring there black look !

Thanks

back to black worked brilliantly on my 205, but the trim on my 309 is already fading again about a month later. The heat gun trick works best imo.

You only really have to apply Plasticare the once though, unlike back to black and similar where you need to regularly apply it. Thats the main benefit of Plasticare

I would be very surprised if its not delivered tomorrow, Mike at plasticare turns the orders around really quickly

don't be disappointed by the size of the bottle, it goes a long way

search through the posts on here already for the best ways to apply it

Anyone who says any other method is better, clearly hasn't tried Plasticare in my opinion. Those who have used it know how good it is and wouldn't dream of using owt else.

+1

Although as always, I will point out that there are some plastics that it's not so good on, so it's not a perfect solution. But generally speaking for our 205s exterior trim, it does the job. You just don't need anything else.

But the question is, what the hell is it! I've used it on my trim and it's amazing but what the hell is the chemical!

The AG green snot is good, but you have to keep applying it. One application of Plasticare and you are done.

That's exactly it. I put my plasticare on two years ago and it's still perfect.

How many tins of bumper snot have you had to buy in that time? more than a tenners worth i bet!
