205 Gti 1.9 Be1 To Mi16 Be1 Gearbox

I originally posted this in the wrong section. Another forum member has already pointed out that I'll need a new clutch cable, then also a clutch pedal and also "thrust bearings"?

Does anyone have the part numbers for these items? Secondly, can I not just use the current clutch setup that's already there? The 1.9 BE1 is coming off and an Mi16 BE1 is going on there. The 1.9 gearbox is currently connected to a GTi6 engine.

Any pics which anyone has would be greatly appreciated as guidance.

Thanks!

the BE1 1.9 MI16 uses a BE3 push type bearing, cross-shaft that turns in a pair of nylon bushes and arm on the top end of said shaft.

unlike the BE1 205 that has a fork pivoting on a ball inside the box, which pokes out of the front of the bellhousing and is actuated by a rod pushed by a quadrant that has the clutch cable attached to it (i.e what's on your car now)

the easiest route to make it work is to use a BE3 cable, for which you'll need a post 90 BE3 style pedal from a 205 or a 309 (they're the same for a TU engine and the XUD)

though I'm fairly sure someone confident in the use of a hacksaw or an angle grinder could easily modify the BE1 clevis pin type pedal into the BE3 hook over the end type, which saves the hunt for a pedal.

Welshpug thank you very much for such a detailed reply, that's exactly the info I was after!

Slightly O/T but shouldn't someone with such knowledge and contributions be in the group "Pitcrew"?
