Some Ones Been In My Car

Recommended Posts

Hi all strange one was up late last night playing cod took the dog out a walk at around half 1am returned played a bit more cod and went to put the bucket out at 2.20am to find my car drivers door wide open.

drivers door has been bent back to gain access(luckly its gone back with no creasing)

found my glove box open still with all my cds in it my stereo still intact and also my i pod had been taken from under the drivers seat and was now in the pass foot well. I also had a 250 buck mac tool ratchet set behind the drivers seat not touched?

then after a bit of head scratching i realised my drive way gates had been opened and the car had been moved back about 2 meters? handbrake of and steering lock on.

not sure if the scum were planning on steeling it kind of looks that way and maybe they got freaked out with me moving around.

so i left the car the way it was turned all the lights in the house off and waited down the side with my trusty bat for nearly an hour.

lucky they didnt come back or I would have a GBH charge.

im just glad there wasnt any major damage and everything is still in the car.

just makes u think what size of balls these scum have.

Or maybe they just didn't like your taste in music :)

Seriously though, very lucky escape (for them maybe too, by the sounds of it!). I harp on about this all the time, but you can drastically reduce your chances of a break in by simply making sure you leave the car empty of all belongings, and with any glovebox/cubby holes and the parcel shelf open so that anyone snooping about can see that you've got nothing of value hidden away. Add to that a removable steering wheel or disclok etc and you should put off all but the stupidest/most persistant TWOCers.

I'd be keeping any valuables out of the car for the foreseeable future atleast, as now they obviously know that there's tools, an iPod etc kept in there and might well be back to try and take them. Indeed, the likelihood is such that I'd probably go as far as to leave the car unlocked (but with additional security such as a steering wheel lock) so that if they come back they atleast won't trash it trying to gain access.

they do it one step at a time, "bend door back" run off, wait 5 min, run back "push car down the road" and they'll try and start the car away from your house while you sleep..

this is how they stole our mazda323 gtr..

if i were you, i'd stick an alarm on it and an imobilizer, they'll not bother after that i'd have thought.

You had a lucky escape by the sound of it as i have a feeling from what you have said they where trying to take the car maybe you disturbed them in the act when they heard you coming outside.

the other thing im pleased about is it happened last night as im just back from a wee holiday on sat. cars been sitting since wed.

i always disconnect wires to coil pack and have a live cut of switch hidden so they would have struggled to get it started.

considering how easy the 205 is to get in, i'd not leave any valuables in the car at all. Asking for trouble. Luckily you have a cheap lesson learned rather than an expensive replacement of all your stuff.

Sounds similar to my break in, obviously after the car. Sadly it seems that our cars are a joyriders wet dream.

 little f***ing s**ts glad to hear they never got it tho bud but wish they would hav came back to say hello to your bat.

i use to take my ecu out everytime i left it out at night that way there never going to get it started (ecu is easy to access as theres a big hole by it). i had a clifford alalrm and immoblizer but after having to strip my dash a few times have found removing alarms and immoblizer a very easy task can be done in 20-30mins with out making much noise if they know what there doing.

about 5 years ago joyriding use to be really big round my way people were taking scooby's gti-r rs turbos very easy so if u make ur ecu (quick release) no robbing little s*it can take it.

Can you fit security lights near your car, so that when they go near they are lit up , then shoot the bastards! :)
