i know there will be many other threads on the matter but ideally want something to pair up to my magnex four branch manifold. what is recommended? the car itself will be used for trackdays so something not too loud ideally please.

i have looked into the Peugeot Sport GPN Exhaust System, however its a straight replacement to standard downpipes etc. so surely this wouldnt fit? and are they any good?

not looking at spending a bomb on this so what is recommended?

The Pugsport from Special Tuning is designed for the standard 1.6, so the pipe diameter is going to be smaller than you need. They're also total s*ite.

Well to be honest I've only had experience with the Group N system, I've had 2 of them and both have failed frustratingly early! I'm currently running a custom stainless system that I made while I was at BTB. A lot of people recommend sticking to the standard system, but since you have a 4-branch that won't work. Might be worth looking at whether the company that made your 4-branch also makes a system to go with it, I'd imagine they do.

Any off the shelf system designed for a GTI is going to need work to mate it to the Magnex manifold. They are all obviously designed to mate to a standard downpipe, but the Magnex manifold is designed to mate to the system that it was part of when sold (the full Magnex system). Even the other Magnex systems that were sold without the manifold will not fit, since they are designed to mate to the standard downpipe. Does that make sense? I might have just over complicated that :)

It makes sense, but surely a phone call to Magnex is all it takes to get the rest of the system?

someone has bought the brand name, their catalogue is pretty limited now, they only do the 106 and 306 in peugeots.

I recently fitted a Magnex to a phase 1 system, all I had to do was chop the length of pipe with the wiggle off the end of the downpipe and shove it INSIDE the magnex.

I think a phase 2 system may well fit over the magnex pipe, but if not any exhaust centre can make a section with theright shape and right diameter ends to suit.

think ill look around then for another magnex one. as it seems nothing else is made to match as well.

Hi,

I fitted my magnex manifold to a group n omp exhaust, all that was required was a small link pipe. I managed to get mine from a local motor factors for not a lot of money. I can't remember the exact dimensions of the pipe, but its fairly simple to sort .I U-clamped mine in position but it could be tack welded if you wanted it to be.

I bought a custom SS link pipe off a well known auction site. I have a magnex manifold and a magnex system - they don't meet!

It was slightly out when it arrived but I returned it and they reworked it promptly and for free.

I chose this option as I read that the pipe towards the front of the car should always go inside the mating pipe, where possible.
