You need to keep the AFM (Air Flow Meter), which is the item by the distributor between two rubber inlet hoses - one going to the inlet manifold and the other going to the round airbox on the back of the engine over the exhaust.

You need to remove that second hose, the airbox itself and even the inlet hosing feeding into the airbox, which has a plastic nozzle under the slam panel at its front most point. I would leave the nozzle and remove everything else I've described.

Then, providing you have everything with the K&N filter, attach the plastic fitting to the AFM and clamp the cone filter to that.

Job done. Now it should be: K&N cone >> plastic adaptor fitted to AFM >> AFM >> inlet hose/bend >> inlet manifold.

If I'm not mistaken, and if the K&N is new, it requires some sort of pre-treatment first, i.e. some special oil sprayed on it.

P.S. Have you not tried the K&N website and seen if the fitting manual is downloadable there?

If you go to the main 205GTIDrivers website (see link in top left corner /\) and look in the articles section, there is a guide that shows you how to do it. If I remember correctly, it shows you how to modify one of the original rubber pipes to relocate the filter - you won't need to do that if you have the full 57i kit with the correct pipe that K&N supply. But basically, look at the article and it will all be clear.
