Door Trim Riveted?

Recommended Posts

Is my door trim supposed to be attached like this?

I've got the drivers side off no problem but the n/s looks like it is riveted to the door?!

a quick buzz with the drill will do the trick, where on the panel is that?

They're the whole length of the door, about 7 in total.

Yeah, drill the head off and then grind down what ever is left. It's obviously been done for a reason though. Probably missing the spring clips underneath that always rot.

EDIT: just seen your latest post above /\. Guess it's had the door swapped with a base model version. Bugger! Also see they've used adhesive for the red strip, as it's got none of the OE rivets to hold the clips that the trim slides on to.

That's why then! Explains it's a lot, and also explains why my sill has rusted so badly along with a pattern wing.... obviously been in a front ender at some point!!!

Can't be too much hassle I guess, might just take some tiger seal to the trim after the respray?
