Mi's In Scotland ?!

Hi folks

 

Im due to collect my first Mi on Tuesday from down south.

 

its been a few years away from hot hatch ownership - previous cars inc a mk2 golf vr6, rs turbo gt turbo..........the list goes on.

 

 

pretty excited as it seems they are good fun !

 

i'll be using it really only for track nights...Topaz blue -mi16 with Jenveys, emerald ECU etc.....

 

 

any other locals in or around the Fife area ?

Not yet, but I'll be moving back to Edinburgh at the start of Sep.

 

Although whether mine will still be Mi I don't know. It's currently with Miles to replace the headgasket, but as it's only been 5 years and 13000 miles since the engine was rebuilt there is a possibility that the block or head is corroded. If it's the block, I don't know what the future holds for the car

hello, living in Montrose now so not too far away from Fife, ive got a 1.9 with an Mi16 in it, next door neighbour has a 1.9 with a gti 6 in it, friend has a 1.6 with mi16 in it and a track car 1.9 with gti6 in it

when u get down to knockhill for track days 205s seem to be weapon of choice. last time i was down think 205s out numbered any other car.

Great Info guys -there is a couple of thursday night track nights coming up -so i should be there - look out for me and come say hello -it will be a Topaz blue with Jenvey throttle bodies...

I'm going to one on Saturday that SIDC are holding.

 

As for Mi pro's I'm unsure,I do as much as I can as they are quite simple to work on,I Partially siezed mine at Knockhill so it was an engine box out job to repair and to be honest it wasn't difficult !

 

For the likes of your motor with bodies etc I'm not sure who to suggest.

 

I've carbs on mine but also have a wideband fitted so I can see what the fuelling is like,I also set my own cam timing with a dti gauge etc,Basically just trial and error with a few things for me
