Just so amazed by how the car behaves much less jerkyness and about 1/4 more power than before no flat spots where as before 4-6k was just a lot of noise.

:D

Just out of interest how much are TPS new think price was a bit high £45 ?

£45 does not surprise me, the one for the gti6 is £100.

Does make a startling difference having one that works properly, and even more so setup properly :D

Throttle position switch/sensor (dependent on model)

The one on my vts engine played me up on a rally last sunday. Got rid off the bad boy and got a nice new one too. :)

It's just a microswitch on the 8V isn't it? Unplugged mine for a bit to see what difference it made and although it was a bit smoother at low revs and stop start traffic the shocking fuel consumption and constant pops and bangs from the exhaust (although very fun!) made me plug it in again.

its a 2 position switch, tells you closed throttle and WOT, so not only will it use more fuel on cruise, it'll be slower as it wont get enough fuel on WOT.

I thought they were 3 way switches, close, part throttle and wide open, or is that just on the motronic?

It's just a switch on WOT. It doesn't do anything anywhere else. That's what the AFM's for. (Or so I'm led to believe)

As WP said, it switches on WOT and closed throttle. You hear it click at both positions. I'm absolutely positive you already know this though Rich, but the way you worded the above makes it sound like you don't
