Some C**t Crashed Into My 205

Recommended Posts

lemmingzappa

Left my car parked in my works carpark, customer reversed into my car at speed but luckily only bent all the trim off and the shell seems ok !

CCTV didn't pick up the numberplate though :)

How can you not see the number plate, surely you can find out what customer it was, Just based on the car.

Keep an eye out for them, as chances are they'll be a regular customer.

How the hell they managed that is anyone's guess though, and judging from the speed it looked in the video, how your car didn't sustain more damage is also surprising.

Things like this really get my goat! And to make it worse the Police don't really seem to give a crap when you report it :) The "looking back " video was good though :D

How you got away with that little damage i will never know

Am sure the police could trace that car from other local area cctv etc if they ever wanted to do anything :)

The footage is too grainy to see the plate, it might be a regular so I can keep my eye out.

I'm also suprised that they didn't do more damage as you can actually see my car move sideways in the video !

Dirty bastard! Hope they get cancer of the eyes.

Anyway, any chance you can get a copy of the orginal footage? I (and im sure others on here with superiour CSI style photoshop skills) might be able to get a partial on the plate.

Poor little 205.. minding its own business :)

I came out of my work car park to find a bmw sat against my bumper, the idiot left his handbrake off and it rolled down the hill apparently this hefty bmw picked up speed and walloped it hard Surprisingly like yours there was no damage except his bmw badge and grille fell off. 205s are pretty tough for a tin can.

Feel for you mate, looked mint at curry meet in Maidenhead.

I was outside the policestation a few months back waiting for my mate to sign in as he was on curfew and these dirty romanian gypsies looking blokes get out of a boo-ed up toyota celica. The passenger slams his door into mine. Looks at me though i'm in the wrong, didn't start anything as I was outside the pigsty just stuck the finger up.

Waited till they went in the station and slammed the door of my 306 several times against their's. Made me feel happy, stupid dirty c*nts.

Im sorry to hear about this type of thing happening again, the person in that car can not drive to save their life.

It looks to me like it was mostly the rear visibility at most fault, look how high the rear window is, thats the trouble with these new cars is that they have very little rear view visibility these days. But the driver still should have known that there are other cars parked up nearby. I would have reversed out in one maneuver if it was me because of the limited space.

You could think about it that way. I tend to believe that it's the person at the wheel that cannot drive the car and then cannot admit to causing an accident.

A guy got smashed into outside my work, I burned the footage for him, but you could only see some of the numberplate, I'm sure the police could of done a couple of searches on their system and worked out who it was, but they said unless they can see it clearly...they can't guess.

I thought it was bollocks.

It is bollocks, sorry to hear and watch this! The police can take a partial numberplate and can match it against a make and model, although it'd help if you could see the make and model clearly, from looking at it I would hazard a guess at a Mazda 6, but it's not clear footage! A bike shop I used to work at had a couple of boxed bikes stolen from just inside the back door, I heard some noise so went to have a look and I saw some bar steward inside dragging a boxed bike out the door, he spotted me, bolted into the car and I chased after it, saw the make, model but only the last 3 letters of the numberplate, a week later, we had the bikes back and the car was traced from the little detail I gave, so it is possible!

Something you could do is pop round to all the local bodyshops and ask them to keep an eye out for a silver saloon or larger hatch with rear end damage, not very likely but you never know!

Shocking! Really sorry to see this (happen to your car) but disgusted at the 'driver' of the car that drove away.

That person can't drive, isn't honest or is so incompetent that they didn't even know they'd done it. Hell: they are possibly all 3. Either way, they are wrong and you should pursue it however you can.

The people on CSI can match paint flecks and track down owners in about 2 minutes on TV, so there is hope.

Our shop has been robbed from before, I've known who is was (infact they've come in earlier without their hood up) and the police have said "we can't guarantee its the same person" (based on CCTV footage, it was obvious) I'm sure if they'd committed a more serious crime they'd be all over me for my statement like gravy on meatballs

I dont see much hope in the police helping now the big budget cuts are in full swing, but i do hope you catch this pathetic so called driver and have him/her to rights.

This and other issues is the one reason i wont be using my GTI as a daily driver, as i said before new cars these days have very little rear view visibility. Im not sure if this car has a reverse beep tech from factory spec but if it has then this would make it even more worse.

I think the driver knew they had hit your car because they stood still for a while after it had happened, they reversed again before driving out.

Without meaning to sound rude, that's a complete load of crap - it was a hatchback car that they reversed into, and that is visible well above the window line of any car on the market, new or old. Had it been a Caterham or a motorbike then I might have understood them possibly not seeing it on a large car with a high windowline, but in this instance the fault lies solely with the eejit sat in the drivers seat.

For all we know the driver might be a short person and not have the rear view mirror set correctly and not totally use to the full length of the vehicle, i agree the driver is in the wrong its just there is usually more to it than just that. Now driving off is another thing, but we dont know for sure that they did feel the bump with the 205 being light and the car being long and heavy. Im not sticking up for the nincompoop in any way, its just the world is more than just black and white.

At 53 seconds the driver of the car gets out to inspect the damage on his own car and then casts a glance over to the 205. So I think it's safe to say the driver had a fair idea of what he'd done.

I totally agree with you, and if you cant see where you are reversing, then you shouldn't be doing it! Either they are blind, incompetant, lazy or just f***ing brain dead!

Imagine if it had been a kid that he failed to notice?!

The driving standards on todays roads are appalling, and now nothing really shocks me, which is sad to say!

This is what I don't understand about CCTV systems. The quality of most is so grainy that half the time you couldn't identify FA from them and for all you know it could have been an oompaloompa that mugged some old dear in the street. Whilst in a case like this when there has been very little damage to (what the Police would regard as) just an old car (I know full well it is much much more than that) then they won't guess even from a partial but in the case of stealing bikes then that's a bit different and they obviously took it seriously.

Anyway aside from that it boils my piss that people care so little about other people's things. Damn kids on my street regularly play football and are generally clowning around our cars on the drive does my head in, but of course tell them not to and no doubt their pikey parents will be round screaming their heads off or keying the 205 or something. Went out to grab something from the Audi as a football bounces off the passenger door, all the kid look to turn and run but obviously realise it's too late and I've spotted them, so tell them to keep it away from the cars and they all skulk off. NO doubt as soon as my back was turned they had it wedged under mine or the neighbours' car. Does my fckuing nut. This country is circling the toilet.

Hope you find the little twunt responsible for this.

Er s*it, I must have missed that bit .

Im going to take a better look of that vid now :P.

Maybe the driver thought, no 'real' damage no problem .
