Solid Gold Sill!

Recommended Posts

bouver

I have been trying to track down a set of sills for my Cti.

No pattern parts availabe, Peugeot no longer list them.

I have tracked one down though, from a Specialist Peugeot Parts Place (Dean Hunter) he has one it stock.

And get this, it is only £270 plus VAT! I had better buy it now before the VAT increases!

it is the price you have to pay for original parts i'm afraid

i needed a sill for a 406 for m.o.t and got qouted similar price from dean, although it was still cheaper than main dealer, if they could supply

i ended up going to the scrappy and cutting out what i needed from another 406. an hour later, and £5 lighter, job done. in all with welding and paint, and rust prevention products, it only cost me £40

Thats a bargain Jord.

I will be buying a Gti pattern sill for around £20 and adapting it to fit the Cti.

I use Dean Hunter a lot, I find him a little expensive on some things.

You might be better off buying a scrapper, CJ sills will be the same and cut one off that.

Mines an F plate with no rust

Oh thats a good idea. Cheers for that Pete.

Does anyone know of any Cti'ss in a scrap yard? I have not seen any for 2 years or more.

The Dimma kit on mine has held moisture and dirt against the sill so has not helped the tin worm situation!

There's usually loads on ebay.

you might have to buy the whole car though.

That's what I'll be doing when I start to rebuild mine.

the pattern Gti cills are not bad at all. I have the Hadrian panels fitted to mine three years ago now and they are superb. To be honest its more the prep work, and finish that could make or break it!
