Pic Of Insides Of Rear Drum Girling Setup Please

Recommended Posts

i managed to get a new quadrant and auto adjuster today (cheers liam) but when i went to put them on i have realised i have put the adjuster on the wrong side of the car?? as it looks as though the curved part of the adjuster has been scraping on the centre of the hub.

so now i really havent got a clue which way round everything goes and the haynes is not much help as its only a drawing, if someone has a picture and some sort of explanation on how it all goes back together i would be muchly gratefull.

also which way way should the pads be fitted? obviously these are the leading pad but as i am having trouble fitting the adjuster quadrant im not so sure which side faces out?

this one is off the passenger side btw

Good,

only one tip to remember - and that is wind the adjuster on a bit before fitting the drum or you won't be able to see it or get to it throught the bolt hole to adjust the shoe clearance.

the way i now have it set up looks just like yours but the bit that stops the adjuster slackening doesnt actually sit on the teeth on the adjuster? the spring pulls it down below the adjuster.

bloody rubbish setup really and i now wish i never removed it all

maybe i have the end with the thread on it the wrong way round?
