Fill Up Time.

Recommended Posts

ORB

I am one of those people who HATES going to get fuel. So, today as the red light had been on for a couple of days I would take her for a bit of spit. I normally put in ten, or twenty quid and get bored of standing there.

I got carried away and brimmed it to the bottom of the filler cap. I got £50.01 in the tank (Tesco standard unleaded)

The point of this topic is not to moan about the price of fuel, but it brought back a memory of the last time I filled to the top a GTi, it cost 32 quid.

Times change.

Oh, I got no fuel spillage !!

The ONLY time I brimmed the 205 was the day I bought it. I'm not going to bother with the 306. Too depressing.

In an average week I spend whatever 50 Litres costs me, but on a busy week like the passed few im forking out for 100-150 litres. Oh the joys of motor racing!

Well it takes 80ltrs and £100.00 @ £1.25 a ltr to fill my E 7 Taxi

That's £10 more than it cost me for 2 new front commercial 6ply tyres last week

In contrast when i was 17, that's 22 years ago it used to cost me £8 quid to fill my Mini

I remember filling up my GTM kit car (mini petrol tank) for £13 "when I was young" but I never used to run it to red - even so, I bet you're only talking £15 or so for a fill-up. Mind you, not the biggest tanks in the world

£45 is the most i can get in from empty. Managed to squeeze £110 into the Range Rover and it barely lasted 300 miles.

About £50 to brim my 1.1 Saxo, not sure on the 205 as I've not driven it for nearly a year

But two points, surely filling up once a month is much better than a little fill every week? And why on earth were you putting standard in a 205?

The standard engine (both 1.6 and 1.9 as I remember) is set up for Super Unleaded and will lose power if run on regular. Plus you're talking about a couple of quid difference over a tank!

Even for the older engines 87 - 88?
