Respraying Work

Recommended Posts

johnhenry

hey

ive put a deposit down on a 205gti and am looking into how much the work will cost to sort her to perfect condition

i think shes graphite grey (MTOV i think)

the area around the back of the door passenger window and rear quarter panel has been resprayed but not has a outter varnish coat on it. so it is matt colour not glossy

i would look to have the glossy lacquer added virtually as soon as i collect her (this wednesday)

firstly: is there any prep work i can do?

second: im based in gloucester and im wondering if anyone knows any where that offers good rates on paintwork?

cheers

John

If the painter cared enough not to laquer it, I wonder how much effort he put in to mixing the colour and putting it down? I would be looking at getting the effected pannels fully repainted if it was me. Chances are its a sunday morning - Halfords car park - rattle can job.

Doing it propley will probably involve blending into the adjacent panels. I would leave the prep to the shop, that way if your not happy they cant blame you.

The finish is all about the prep work so I would definatly leave it to the proffesionals.
