[engine_work] Mi16 Project In Prep Of Track Work

Recommended Posts

MARKMI16

I've had this 205 for just over a year now, and I bought it as a road legal track car, which was stripped, caged and had the MI16 already in it. Initially I was happy with it, but I knew It needed some work, so I set about getting the way I wanted it, which I'm calling stage 1.

Well I'm now working on stage 2, which is to make a flying machine of a 205 with as little budget restrictions as possible(in other words no limit but not stupid money).

So, this is the car after stage 1

Stage 2 involves a forged engine with throttle bodies, fully worked head by "the man in a shed" CAT cams/pulleys, plus the usual stuff assosiated with a build like this. It's also getting a bias pedal box, RaceTechnology digital dash with data logging, carbon interior trim kit(door cards and inside tailgate trim), lightweight cabin mounted battery, uprated fuel system with surge tank and a fully flocked upper and middle dash.

The biggest problem has been the rot in the engine bay and inner wings, which almost made me buy another shell it was that bad! Anyway, after many hours of cutting and prep work, plus a new front panel, this is the state of play...

So there is still some way to go with it, and I'm hoping to have it on the road by September...

Thanks for looking,

Mark.
