yep arbury it was both me and car 29 (aston martin) flew into the trees .absolutely flat over the crest and she got sideways on the brakes and i became a passenger from there on

me and andy are both ok ,thanks for asking, apart from the earbashing he gave me for not listening to him (my bad)

not going to re-shell as it will repair

strange but true yes it does and yes you can if you want to remove them once i have started stripping it .a couple of beer tokens would be nice as a contribution to the rebuild my rallycar fund ..pete

not a big deal really i have already taken the measurements from the donor car and the top mountings on my car on the damaged side have moved about 5 mm according to the reference points ,so it will get a little tug with the dozer back to straight then i will be able to attach the donor inner wing ,the big benefit on my car is the engine was solid mounted so it adds a lot of structural strength to the car and things havent moved nearly as much as they could have

bit off topic but how much vibrations do you get with it mounted that way? cheaper than buying the uprate ones :D

i think it would be cheaper to buy the uprated ones unless you have access to a machine shop to make them .

bearing in mind its a noisy rally car the vibration is very minimal, the main noise we get is between 2-3000 rpm on road sections the roof has a resinance but it may also be the fact that the cage is multipointed to the shell and the roof has no sound deadening left on it . all in all its not too noisy but you can definately feel the handling difference the car reacts much better .torsional rigidity comes in to play here

thanks we were just lucky i got the car straight before impact or it could have very well been full on into the tree with the co drivers door .just dont bear thinking about really

its never going to be good at 120mph but if you dont have a little off once in a while you aint trying

my fault entirely but i make no excuses for driving on the limit or this time just over it

the aston needs a new roof or major surgery so that wont be cheap i know
