Federal 595 Rs-r 195 50 Zr15 W

MOT Motorsport are now offering these tyres in 195/50/15 and are supposed to rival r888's. Heard good comments about these over on Northloop.

Cheap at £76.38 a tyre too !

Apparently, they last longer than r888's with a very slight loss in grip in comparison. A 1 second difference in laptimes around Mallory.

Camskill have been doing them for well over a year now, but I haven't heard of many using them yet.

I hope they're better than the Federal's I've just replaced on the back of my BM. My experience of those will put me off Federals for ever I think.

Ah what a shame, Camskills never had any of these in stock when I opted for T1r's-My friend runs these on his RS2 Audi and swears by them. Make sure they are the RS though.

I think its media bollocks myself, they are stamped with all the right numbers (as are the AO48, R888 etc), so as long as they have enough rubber on them (i.e you don't run on the road with them under 1.6mm) you'll be fine IMO.

You do have the non-road legal cut slicks, but they have "NOT FOR ROAD USE" stamped on them

These are more a softer compound reinforced road tyre than a harder compound track tyre.

it seems camskill only have the RS in BIG sizes at the moment, only the normal road tyre the SS available in 205 sizes.

It might be inthe future they will no longer be stamped with the relevant legal markings though

I beleive Maxxias have started supplying something similar but I havent heard reports yet. The tyre dealer at my brothers place mentioned it as they know I do a few trackdays. Might have to try them to see
