I've seen a magnex stainless full exhaust system on eBay, he wants £180 delivered for it. Is that a good price?

Doesn't sound too bad i guess. there's a few different ones though, sleeve and olive fit, and differing designs.

 

Not to mention it's probably cracked anyway...

Not sure which fit it is, 3". he says it's in working order no leaks just a dent on the back box.

i always pick things up if they cost a lot.. if you did the same you wouldnt have to worry.

 

might be worth thinking about ? price seems good if its the full system

I bet the baffle's are missing from one of the box's, they normally are

Yup, as Miles said, the baffles come loose for a past time in those, and Magnex have gone bust now, so that doesnt help!

The baffles in my magnex are gone they rattle like absolute crazy. Makes the car sound like a bag of nails.

It's way too far for me to go about 2 n half hours drive. With all these possibilities of problems best to give it a miss. And look at something from a reliable source. Guys my manifold on my 8v 1.9 is leaking and it's already been welded before so I need to change it. Anybody got a four way manifold or a decent full system for sale?

Shall I stick to the standard 3 way manifold or change it to a 4way for betta gas flow ? Any suggestions welcome. How much of a difference in performance does it make by changing the back box too?

Have a search but as far as I remember there's no benefit in going to a 4 branch manifold. I should have a standard one knocking about if you want one, plus I'm not that far away

performance difference from changing the backbox is negligible, especially on a standard (or close to it) engine.

 

The standard manifold is supposed to be pretty good, but does crack. You hear various claims about the Magnex manifold but I doubt it's worth more than a few horsepower over a standard item. Does look pretty and weigh less though, and they sound cool.

A decent 4 branch is worth a few more ponies. But i'd expect not a great deal at all if any on a standard engine tbh.
