8v Main Bearings

alright guys, iam just in process of rebuliding an 8v motor for my daily runaround, just had crank reground and guy wants to know what arrangement of main shells i have plain or grooved.However someone has lost the old ones so am i right in saying best to go for 5 grooved in the block and 5 plain in the caps as i read puma racing site and he does it this way.

Thats the way they all should be, I know the joke book say various ways but in all the engine's I;ve seen they have only been plain and groved

Ok thanks, i guess i will order 5 plain and 5 grooved ones as the engine shop said theyre was quite a few different ones.Didnt really want to go this far however as usual when stripping engines its never just a case of rings and big ends
