Driveshafts From 205 1.9 Diesel

Would driveshafts from 205 1.9 diesel fit to 205 1.6 gti without modifications?

not doubting you ,but what is the difference in the shafts ?

the splines on the outer joint and the construction of the outer joint.

will 1.9 joints fit on the diesel shafts or are the shafts different in length or splines

nope, 1.6/diesel joints are not dismantle-able.

 

overall length of the shafts is the same, but the outer spline pattern is smaller than the 1.9 gti, they are the same pattern as the TU shafts.

was kind of hoping that i could rebuild a set of spare shafts for my 1.9 gti using the diesel shafts that i have by changing the outer joints .but not possible then

i remembered this post the other day so thought i would use it to save starting a new thread.

i have a xsara vts gearbox and have base model hubs so do i use the xsara ns inner joint with a 1.6 gti outer section and just the complete 1.6 gti shaft for the o/s

as Miles has said a few times, fit a 205 diff then the whole 205 shaft.

i have spent a while searching and have not had much luck. i am new to the be stuff as always played around with ma boxes and tu.

so what is the diffrences in the diffs? so i can unbolt the crownwheel and bolt it to a 205 diff be3 diff???
