Topaz Blue

It appears to have been an unpopular colour, why was that? You see very few around these days so can only assume it wasn't the buyers first choice!

The reds/greys/blacks etc etc are strong colours on the 205's so is this blue a little too washy for its image and therefore wasn't the one to go for?

Not sure, but it's annoying as it's my favourite colour 205 GTi! Given up trying to find a tidy non-sunroof Topaz now though

Am I right in saying that the colour was only an option pre Ph2? If I am, then I think the reason is because the colour does not go well with the lighter grey trim (EDIT: and earlier lights). Frankly, it looks s*it!

Now, if you see a Topaz with proper black Ph2 trim (EDIT: and later lights) on the other hand, they can look bloody lovely!

I can see your point GLP, but the colour itself is rather nice.

Didn't paintguy restore a topaz blue and used black trim/bumpers on it? His thread seems to have vanished, was lovely iirc.

Graphite is probably my favourite colour on the 205, followed by Miami blue.

I love Topaz, there's so little because they were only made for a year. 'tis a shame IMO.

My old Topaz. Had it four years and really liked it, though I remember seeing a fair few topaz's back then. Originally I only bought it because I was offered it cheap! (needed a new engine after the previous owner spun a big end shell).

Chopped it in for my first 1FM six years ago. As far as I know it's still out there somewhere.

The CTI version Haze Blue is very nice too and looks good. Miles has a nice example of this. Paintguys was topaz with extra metal flake in it to make it more sparkly

Eeep. I wrote off a Topaz blue 1.6 almost 10 years ago! A really nice car, G260 WJV I think.

Personally, I really like Topaz, I think its quite a modern looking colour, same as Miami and Lazer green.

IMO it's not a great colour, too light a blue and doesn't suit the 205 well, IMO of course. I don't like this kind of blue on any car though, it's just a weak colour. Many Ferraris have been ruined by a similar colour

See alot of Saxos in this colour, Citroen call it Icelandic Grey. Mate of mine has a mint Topaz 205 XS aswell......although its only mint when viewed from one side and if you dont fire up the engine. I'm not sure its as good as colour as Laser green though, or the never seen Atlantic Blue.
