Fuel Filter Help

Recommended Posts

wah

Hi all,

Well I decided yesterday to change the filter everything went fine until I started the car to check for leaks, now I have a small amount of fuel leaking from the top of the filter, I have cut back the pipe incase it was this but still leaking, should I have replaced the two washers that sit at the top and bottom of the bolt that screws into the top of the filter ?? Also has anybody got the part number for these so I can get them.

Cheers

Si

Its always worth replacing them as they are under pressure and not very expensive.

I think the part number you want is 1562 44. Worth double checking though.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I'm sure you can restore those washers by the process of 'anealing' (SP?).

You get them red hot (blow torch, gas hob etc) and then chuck them in to cold water.

Yes. Done that myself and no leaks so far.

They're also pennies from any motor factor, just take the old one along and ask for some the same.
