dicky20014 4 Posted June 20, 2010 Apologies if this has been covered before - I cant find anything relevant that I havent already tried. Bit of background, 205 1.9gti, car was bought as a non runner so is being built up. Nearly finished but struggling with the brakes. New pads, discs, braided hoses (all round), copper brake lines and 1 new caliper (it was seized). Only brake pipes not replaced are the ones under the fuel tank. Fresh brake fluid, bled numberous times and even bought an eazi - bleed kit in the end and did 3 bleeds with that. Problem: Brakes not good enough! They work (just), but nowhere near as powerful as they should be......as in you have to brake really hard just to stop at a junction. Tried the servo test - pump the pedal and hold then turn the engine on and the pedal sinks, so its not that, so whats left? Master brake cylinder? change them pita remaining fuel pipes? Thing is, it doesnt leak around the master cylinder or around any of the fittings / brake lines etc so Im a little confused as to what it could be, any help appreciated! cheers Rich
