Carbs

Currently got a 1.6 gti. Im looking at running on carbs. The only thing that is stopping me is in the future i want to upgrade to an mi16 or gti6 engine. If i buy the weber 40s to run on the 1.6 i will wish i had 45s when i swap engines over. This has lead me to have a look at bike carbs. Say i was to get a set where can i get a manifold made up?

Why will you wish you had 45s? 40s will be fine on an Mi16.

 

Bogg bros will make a bike carb manifold. But i wouldn't bother personally.

Oh right. I was under the impression 40's werent enough.

 

Do complete second hand carb kits come up for sale often?

have a scan thru the for sale section, Baz had some (a complete kit) and there's another set on there to.

 

It depends on what you're ultimately wanting from your car/engine etc. Is it road, track etc all has a bearing on choice.

Ill take a look. Its mainly for road use but it will see the ocasional trackday.
