Engine Block Difference

Recommended Posts

mhyphenl

I have a broken 8v block, (rear mounts sheered). I had a great little block from Dr Sarty for a bargain price, there is however a difference. Mine is a '93 DKZ with the later concentric tensioner, the replacement has a sprung one. That makes it older and I know they were inclined differently in the engine bay. It looks as though there are holes drilled in the right place to fit the concentric tensioner but are there any internal differences or any possible problems with running my head, engine management etc?

they are interchangeable, just drop all your bits inside/on and you'll have a dkz spec engine.

Like Meirion says, you can drop all your bits into the other block.

To use the sprung tensioner you need a different cambelt from the earlier cars with 113 teeth (not that you'd reuse one).

Graham.
