Fuel Pressure Regulator

Recommended Posts

AJA_GTi

Chatting to a guy the other day who claimed to have been involved in building 205 rally cars in the 80s and he told me that putting a socket over the top of the FPR and twatting it with a hammer would increase fuelling/ power.

Is this pub talk BS or true? Wont be trying it though

(How come every car dealer has got a story about building/ owning/ racing 205 gtis?)

It is true that it can increase fuel pressure, by denting the steel casing you put some more pre load on the spring in the regulator, thus increasing the pressure it will hold in the rail before lifting. However whether this increase in fuel pressure gives more power is another question.

de-catted a senator 24v a few years ago, and this was the only way we could get it to run nice again (£300 car, zero budget)
