Differential Spec

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Just trying to get a diff spec sorted out, wanted to know what others are running. I'm going to be around the 200-240 bhp mark when done, plus gas. Tarmac use only, with slicks, 048/888 tyres. No power steering

Already specced a lighweight Trans-x diff, just need to settle on a ramp angle.

They are suggesting 30/60 but i know some of you guys recommend 45/45.

I went for 30/60 lightweight in the end, haven't been able to test it yet though.

Depends on how good you are, i tried 45/45 in a gripper diff in my sprint car 180bhp 8 valve,4.8 cwp, 800kgs on road tyres and it gave some lift of oversteer

on track, fine on the road though, i changed it to 30/60 after a few events, and have just ordered the same 30/60 for my new 16v car.

That's what I was told when I bought mine, the 45/45 is more aggressive in it's unlocking, the 30/60 is more forgiving.
