Peugeot Expert Mk1 Part Number From Service Box Please

Recommended Posts

Firstly i need a part number for a fuel temperature sensor for my Peugeot Expert 2003 2Ltr HDI The reg is SF03 DSU

And if you can send me the diagram of where it goes it would be a great help as well :)

If you have any dealings with these Experts or can help me diagnose my problem then please read on

Well here is hoping someone can help me out with an ongoing problem i have with my taxi, i will try my best to explain what is happening so please bear with me

my problem is, if the taxi which is a 2ltr HDI 2003 Peugeot expert is driven from a cold start i can drive it with no problems, but only for a very short distance say for half a mile but during this it will pull like a train and will rev very well

then as soon as its gets some heat into the engine it will cut out just like someone has turned the key off...... stone dead!

Then if i leave it for a few minutes it will start, and away its goes again, but will continue to cut out over and over again when i accelerate i don't have to be reeving it hard, just when you put the boot to the floor it dies again, it wont start straight away but leave it for a few minutes and away it goes again

if i disconnect the airflow meter it runs like you are towing a house, but no matter how hard i floor it or rev it,

it wont cut out mile after mile its fine

so i tried another known working airflow meter from my mates taxi on it but it still cuts out, just the same as when my own meter is fitted and connected

so it cant be that, also tried changing the seals around the filter housing in case it was drawing air, and i tried a different fuel pressure switch, as well.

i have had it to four mechanics without getting to the bottom of the problem if i drive it really really easy it will drive fine but floor it even at 40 mph in fifth gear and it will cut out

i have today had it diagnosed on another snap on computer which is showing a possible fuel temperature sensor problem so like i said before i am looking the part number for the fuel temp sensor for it, and if possible a diagram off service box of where the hell it goes i think it must be along the fuel rail but i may be wrong

any more suggestions as to what is wrong would be gratefully received

Thanks for your help

EXPERT 1 & 2 TYPE 800 SHORT SIDE WINDOW VAN 2.0 HDi 136 Manual gearbox 5

its used on quite a few engines but only the 136 2.0. and I think is part number;

1922 G4 GO TEMP SENSOR LONG 101 - DW10ATED4 TURBO DIESEL

not entirely sure where it is, apart form on the fuel lines somewhere!

what was the code it was throwing up?

I think the main issue could be is that its a commercial vehicle base, and as such doesn't comply to European EOBD Laws, so the code might not be anything like what the fault really is, you'd need to speak to a Peugeot-Citroen specialist or a dealer to find out, I've not much experience with the later electronic diesels as yet!

You dont want to have much experience with these either welshpug :)

There is something like 27 Different sensors in the engine so i am told

They really are a pile of scrap

I had a full nightmare time trying to get an injector out of mine

i know of quite a few newer taxis 05 06 models that have had to get new heads because the injectors wont come out....

thanks so much for your help

If anyone else has any suggestions as to why its cutting out then please feel free!

I have seen a problem the same as what you are describing with a few 406 HDi's which are basically the same engine and the problem was the fuel pressure regulator in the pump.I am fairly sure the part number is 1933 38.

Best thing to do is to get it on a proper machine that will show live data readings and fault codes. Get somebody who knows what they are doing and they'll be able to diagnose it within a few minutes. Something somehwere is exceeding programmed limits or has failed and the ECU is cutting the engine (Which it is programmed to do if a major fault is detected - Usually fuel pressure related).

Unplugging the airflow meter is only masking the problem - it is dropping into limp-home because the air flow meter has been disconnected and it is ignoring all other sensors, replacing the values they would give it with pre-programmed values. Hence the sensor\actuator that would normally be supplying duff data is being ignored and the engine can continue to run albeit in limited mode.

As this is a 136 model it's either the later Siemens ECU or Bosch EDC16 which is the next generation to the older EDC15 HDi's and so works slightly differently to the older HDi engines.

PS When was the last time it had a fuel filter? A blocked fuel filter may cause the fuel pressure to be below limits which would cause it to cut out - On the EDC15 you have to have at least 250bar in the rail before the ECU will even think about firing the injectors, i expect EDC16 has a similar failsafe. Either that or a sticky fuel pressure reg\sensor would be my guess :D

Thanks for the input we have tried another fuel pressure sensor i don't know if its the same thing but cheers i will check it out

Hi and thanks for you reply

well the last guy that had it on his snap on machine is a real boffin, it was like doing my driving test again sitting beside him

he had the computer plugged in when we where driving along so he could get a good idea of what was going on

driving along i can get it to cut out by order just by putting my boot to the board

on the computer after clearing the faults and starting from scratch where

1 Fuel temp apparently the fuel temp was 70' which was warmer than my coolant at the time...

2 fuel pump relay

3 then fuel rail pressure

now it took this to be them temp was to high or being misread it was telling the relay to stop the fuel and then because the relay was not supplying the fuel rail pressure had dropped although what i know about these engines you could write on a stamp and even then i would just say these are scrap :D

the filter was changed the same time i done the seals on the housing so on a couple of hundred miles on it so it cant be that
