Boot Struts

Just out of interest are the boot struts supposed to lift the boot up from almost closed position because on my Grans saxo you press the boot release and it requires very little effort to pull the hatch up (the struts assist so much)but with the 205 you have to really lift it and the struts seem to just hold it in place and thats it.

 

Hope this makes sense.

 

Just wondering if mine are knackered or if its normal for a 205.

My struts don't lift the tailgate.

 

If you're having trouble lifting yours I suggest going down the gym.

Yes, it should offer some assistance. You shouldn't really have to put in too much effort at all, and once it's up to about horizontal it'll more or less go the rest of the way on it's own.
