It depends on which of the 405 SRi management systems it is using, guessing from the coilpack its Motronic MP3.1.

Andy_R ran his Mi briefly on MP3.1 which is colipack like this & its benefits are you can get it remapped to suit your engine used with a standard manifold.

Using MP3.1, the ecu wouldn't be suited with to much advance for an Mi16 so you'd risk holing a piston if you gave it some hammer.

Firstly, I don't understand the topic title. What is 'lth'?

Then this instalation looks a little odd - even messy.

This definitely uses a different ECU as you need one for the coil pack which will be running wasted spark, although the Mi ECU already controls injection so I don't see any advantage there of this set up yet myself.

Thirdly there's the odd looking throttle body.

But I do have to ask you Chris: is your car even running yet?

And 5th, if you were to go ahead would you be doing the work yourself or getting someone else to do it? :)

It would obviously involve some wiring!

As well as replacing the distributor cap and rotor arm with a wasted spark system with no moving parts it has a similar effect on the injection side by replacing the AFM with a MAP sensor. The TB just looks odd because its the oval Mi16 shape with an adaptor to change it to round so the air filter can connect directly with no AFM stage.

So this is really the equivalent of binning Jetronic/Motronic (early) on an 8v in favour of Motronic 3.1 from something like a ZX Volcane? We are binning the AFM and dizzy in favour of more stable/less prone to failure components?

Welshpug is doing this 8v change to my white car in Wales as we speak. :)

(Still looks s*it in the above picture).

Looks more like some sort of 06 loom due to the IACV or thats what it looks like in that picture, as said what a poor conversion

Yes & the fact that it can be remapped but nothing to wild cam wise.
