Hi, im sorry this isn`t concerning a peugeot but would like some advice so thanks in advance,

 

My girlfriends C3(just get that in ) has a whine (that isnt her) that seems to be coming from the camblt area but as with these small cars its hard to tell completely as tight engine space could poss be aux belt or AC compressor but seems higher my qusetion is would the belt whine or tensioner if on way out, Has anyone had probs like this

this should be in TU section BTW, unless its a diesel one?

 

The Timing belt tensioners on these are sprung and can be tricky to get the tension right so it may be the timing belt, there's also an idler pulley and a water pump that could cause the nosie.

No its not the diesel version so guess it needs to be in the TU section, didnt want to place it in the TU section just incase, if a mod could move the topic it would be appreciated

Just wizz the aux belt of see if still does it the noise when running.If it does stick a belt kit on it these are`nt that bad to work on
