405 1.9td

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've just bought a 405 1.9TD for the engine bottom end and gearbox, and was wondering are there any other parts worth keeping? Hubs/shafts/brakes etc?

Ta,

Different connectors though if I remember correctly so some rewiring would be needed.

hubs and brakes don't go straight on, though Colin satchel does use them in his bump steer corrected geometry.

brakes only fit 405/6 hubs.

driveshafts obviously a bit too long

what year + colour and is it a saloon or an estate?

It's a red GRDT estate on a K plate, after any bits? Will be going scrapper by end of next week.

It's got one one touch switch but it doesn't feel healthy (can't test most of the engine loom has been cut out)

Are the steering racks the same? (apart from drumsticks) they look similar but haven't got a 205 one off to compare it with.

They're not quite as tough as the regular switches. Had one die on an old 405 and the stealer wanted £36 for a new one. So I tried to fit a normal one but connector was different.
