1.9 Gti Handbrake Cable

Hi guys, I snapped one of the handbrake cables on saturday so i decided to replace both. Got a pair from GSF. My understanding is that passenger side one is longer than the driver side. However the passenger side one I bought is longer again than the passenger side one and doesnt line up with the holders underneath the car. GSF say that its all they have for it but have ordered another one in just incase the wrong cable was put in the wrong bag at the suppliers.

My question is, have GSF just given me the wrong one or have I got some mixed up cables on the car? Any ideas?

The left hand cable is 1372mm long.

The right hand cable is 1386mm long.

Maybe you have been given a 306 one. How long is it?

afaik, the o/s handbrake cables have a blue plastic sleeve over the cable.

 

whether it's genuine or pattern part

Not sure on the length and there is no blue sleeve on it.. there was no blue sleeve on the one that came off either. So driver side is suppose to be longer? Would the cables fit if i swapped sides?
