As desription really.

If i tighten the nut as tight as feels secure, the arm goes a little to stiff for comfort.

A bit of locktight maybe?Almost feels like a 2nd nut is needed to lock up against.

Opinion from seasoned axle builders appreciated.

Anthony

You're meant to set the arm to seal clearance using the stud, and then whilst holding it with a flat-blade screwdriver, tighten the 13mm nut.

Just tightening the nut without first setting the clearance using the stud will result in the arm being pulled in excessively tightly against the seal, causing premature wear and seal failure.
