Which Belt

Recommended Posts

dee205

Stuck the pas pump and bracket onto the 205 tonight. Now the pas came off a 205 and it's gearbox mounted like the original Mi16.

Only thing is the 205 belt is too big to fit the short distance between the cam pulley and the pump pulley.

Is it just a matter of using the 405 Mi16 belt?

Cheers

Damien

get a piece of string, and cut wrap it round as a belt would go, cut it to the length and measaure it, theres your lenght, if its a multi ribbed belt, count the ribs, if its a 5 rib belt, the part number would be 5pk- then the lenght of the belt,

I don't believe you can use the 205 pump as the offset is different, not 100% on that but I do remember Miles mentioning it.

Both pump pulley and cam pulley line up correctly. Pump is of a gearbox mounted 205 and the part numbers are the same for both 405 & 205 pump....

On looking at the pump now it does look to be offline by a few mm.

It seems there is a difference in Peugeot diesel and petrol pas pumps.

Can anyone confirm which pas pump I should be looking for then and from what models etc.

Could you file out the mounting holes and slide the bracket over a little?

Had toyed with the ide of filing out the holes. Found out the pump is slightly different and I've been offered an Mi pump so hopefully it should be sorted out.

According to service box a few models share the same pump bracket which bolts to the top of the gearbox. The pump however is not the same part number.

Assuming your braket looks like this then I think you just need a MI pump. :)
