Recommended Posts

Hi guy's just a quick one. I took my engine out the other day 1.9 16v on 8v loom shooved it back in and getting no spark again :) i have cheecked the loom for breaks and can't find any.

looked at some older posts about dizzy signal wires and testing them so i have checked mine on the pins shown in the picture.

I got this reading when cranking between 220 and 347 ohms resistance, i have read that it should be around 515 ohms resistance would the indicate a knackerd wire.

Just wanted to check before i go and get one.

Cheers ashley...

if its on an 8 valve loom then you wont have a crank sensor related to the engine management.

I might have got the name of the wire mixed up with something else. the wire in question is the one that comes of the dizzy that you get the signal for cam timiing so it will spark, i thought that was called the cas wire am i wrong?.

This is the old topic where i got the info for testing the wire.
