Oil Filler Cap

Recommended Posts

Guest voiture de sport

Hello,

Today I replaced my main oil filler rubber tube and the one that goes to the rocker cover as well as the one that goes from the bottom of the engine to the side of the oil filler tube. Over the course of the day i have noticed various little holes and replaced the rubber hoses.

However once I did this and took the car out for a enthusiastic drive the oil filler cap would come off and spray oil everywhere. Some time ago i cleaned out the air idle unit and the breather hoses. I have noticed some oil coming out of the smaller hose (the one that connects to the throttle housing unit) at the base of the hose that connects to the housing unit. I tightened the hose with a crocodile clip and replaced the guaze in the oil filler cap. I noticed that where the smaller breather hose connects onto the throttle housing unit there would be a small type metal tube where the rubber hose sits of the top. I cleaned this with some carb cleaner and notice that inside this small thing and poking around inside of it that there is no hole and just metal feeling as if its meant to be that way, sholud it be clear with a hole so that the breather hose can 'breath'. I took of the various air hoses and turned the butterfly throttle open so that i could have i feel, but felt nothing but just metal and no hole.

Could i have some help plz

Sean

sounds like the o-ring seals for the filler cap are perished or missing.
