Gti Fuel Tank Fitment

Dont know wether this is the best section to post in, can someone quickly take a look and tell me which ports on the fuel tank is the return, and which is the feed. Im looking at a blank pump, and the haynes manual is of no use. Could you describe in terms of which is closer to fuel tank wiring connectors e.g

There were arrows on mine when I had it out, just under the actual pipe outlets on the top on the plastic casing.

last one I looked at had arrows on it, also feed is larger.

If look carfully on the photo you can see the arrows that I put on mine.

Slightly off topic but my fuel tank had that red paint stuff in the same area as yours, i thought a previous owner had spilt paint in the boot or something, where is it from ?
