What Tyres?

Recommended Posts

blessed6383

which tyres are best suited/perform best in wet and dry?

also my 205's running 195/45/15

what is the best size for performance? not to bothered about comfort or road noise really as cars lowered and has straight through exhaust.

cheers

IIRC there's a few tyre threads about :)

But i'm running Falken 912's for daily road use and i'm very happy with them in all conditions. The performance is amazing for the money !

I am running Falken 912's also and very happy with them.

I would say you would probably be better off with 195/50's,they will probably be cheaper than 45's too.

45's are not suited to a 205 at all, they feel too harsh on bumps and snappy on the limit.

I ran Kumho KU31's on my Impreza. A different car I know, but wear rate was very good. Traction in wet or dry was also very good. Black Circles are doing them for 28 quid a corner.

Agree with the above. Set yourself a budget. Go and take your pick. As long as it's not a cheap and nasty unknown make. Everyone will have there opinion. I might add, Maxxis as a name to look for. These cam on a 405 Mi16 I had and I replaced with them. I never use anything but Maxxis for my MTB.

don't know if many have tried them on the 205 yet, but Hankook V12s are reckoned elsewhere and are cheap in 195/50/15

Recently had some Toyo Proxes T1r's fitted. I always like the Toyo's, quite soft i think but i don't do mega milage and they seem good to me. (195/50 btw)

I have sworn on TR1's in the past for value for money, but TBH they wear far to quick under abuse. Will be trying something diffrent next time

I had a set of Goodyear F1 on a 206 GTI - they were excellent wet or dry. In fact they were the only decent thing about the car. I've just treated my 205 to a set of Michelin Pilots for £245 fitted from Blackcircles - early days yet but first impressions are awesome. Also improved ride and steering. (Road use on a standard car)

Its amazes me the difference a good set of tyres make. My old crap tyres were useless in every way, my new proxes its like having PAS compared to before and as you say the ride is noticably more comfortable. I'd never buy cheap tyres now.
