At the end of the week it was generally, but not unanimously, agreed that the Peugeot was the better car

I have a standard 1.9 and an Esprit, and the article is really spot on with the comparison. They are, in many ways, surprisingly similar to drive - but if I was going for a quick blast then I would probably jump in the 205... ;)

Many cynics doubted that we'd even get to the south of France, given the transport. After all, no two cars have worse reputations for reliability than the Esprit Turbo and the Cosworth. 'How is the Peugeot going to tow both cars,' the sceptics were saying.

Because of this very article I traded my 1986 MR2 in for our local dealers "F" plate demonstrator and have never looked back. ;)

I'd still probably rather an esprit if someone offered me either for free ;).

Good read. Cheers. I think I'd always end up buying few 205s of different spec mod them and choose which one to drive according to mood.

Supercar could not be the daily car. Lotus for weekend drives - why not?

Thanks for a post.

Always loved Esprits, I aspire to own a V8 Twin Turbo one day, before the values go through the roof as they become proper classics.

Just glad I've already had the chance to own a 205 Gti (Even if it is just a little 1.6 :-) )
