205 Mi16 Won't Start

Recommended Posts

qwerty

Hi

Car has been off the road for couple yrs now, I've been starting it every once in a while and its been running fine until a month ago,

The car was ticking over nicely on the drive when it suddenly just stopped without any hesitating, it wouldn't restart, try again a couple days later and it started fine, now it won't start again.

There's no spark,

I've added some fresh fuel, changed the coil for a new one, cleaned the crankshaft sensor, and given the battery a good charge.

Still not starting, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what else i can try?

Cheers,

Mark.

Start with the plugs mate i know you can clean them but if you have a good working set you can try it helps.Allso bore wash maybe if you keep stopping and starting, so does it sound like it has good compression i mean its not spinning over dead fast.

Then work round to things like ignition amp .dizzy cap etc etc

Allso check the ecu temp sensor and make sure its ok as it could be flooding

Where is the ecu temp sensor?

I've had the plugs out and cleaned them and its had a new dizzy and rotor too

I forgot to say the rev-counter isn't pulsing when i turn it over?

Its next to the stat housing on the side of the block usually blue with a two pin plug. But it wouldnt stop it from starting as long as it isnt flooding .Checked the usual things like timing make sure nothings come a miss .I know it wouldnt stop it from sparking but its just easier to go over everything.'I would definatly change the plugs mate i have a shed load of them they look ok but put them in and the car wont start [cheers megasquirt]

After all that check there is power at the coil.maybe try a lead off and see if it arch`s out on something metal. Im unsure weather the ign amp would make it not spark but im sure some one else will tell you
