Castrol Gtx 15w-40 High Mileage

I saw this in Wilkinsons for £8.48 for 4l the other day, any reasons why it would be a bad idea on a standard 1.9?

(I normally pay about double that for 5l of comma semi-synth 10w-40)

i used to use it in my 150k 205 - never had any issues, just change it regularly like any other oil :D

I prefure to use ester synthetic oils, like the silkolene pro s or motul 300v, i dont see the point in putting cheap oil in my car as the engine is the most important bit.

Not saying that you shouldnt put cheap oil in as its your choice, but i would ask for advise of some one like oil man from opie oils, he definatly nos his stuff.

The 8v would probably run with olive oil. Regular changes are more important. I always used whatever 10w40 semi synth I could get from the factors.

I'm a bit more careful with the Gti 6 as they seem to be a bit fragile.

To add to this, now they are also selling 5l of their own brand 10w-40 semi synth for £9.99!

This will be where my money goes next time, I fell for the Hellfrauds 'free' screwdrivers offer this time.....
