Twin Fan Setup

Recommended Posts

dee205

I have a twin fan setup from a diesel 205 which I plan to put in my Mi16. I've tried a search but got lost trawling through results.

Is there a straight forward method of using the 2 fan setup? What do I need to hook it up etc. I have the twinfans and the 2 wire/plugs coming from it. I have a diesel radiator and can take whatever else is needed from the diesel.

Cheers

Damien

Just run the complete diesel relay fan loom setup rather than trying to lash up the original GTi fan wiring - it's then plug and play, and it's a fan better and more reliable system in my opinion.

I take it this is the loom I'll be needing Old one on left. new one on right...... Need to get somewhere to put the relays now.

Iirc you can bolt the relay bracket to the 205 shunt box on the slam panel :)

The power distrubution box is loose, hidden below the air filter as there was no room for it. I have to find a decent home for that and the relay box along with the pas tank when I fit that this week.

Yes, that's what you need.

You should be able to mount the relay box to the chassis leg underneath the air filter / AFM I'd imagine using a simple bracket, or providing that your electrical/soldering skills are upto the job, it would be a simple job to extend the wiring to mount the relays wherever you wanted in the engine bay.

Was thinking about mounting the lot to the chassis leg as you suggested. Keep it out of sight.

Cheers for the help!
