New Gti Bumpers

Recommended Posts

de Noir

got myself set of new bumpers long time ago

now I noticed there are no holes for red-strip-clips!

is this normal?

what's the procedure, drill-it-yourself or what? :D

thanks!

If they are proper GTI bumpers then its not normal for the holes to be missing.

Have they got the correct ends for the arch trim to fit into?

IIRC most of the 205 bumpers (even base ones) have the holes for the trim clips.

Graham.

normal if they are aftermarket cheapies, but not if you paid decent money :)

I got them from Peugeot, back in 2006

GTI stuff both, part no 740173 front and 741099 rear

paid what they have asked for :P

both have correct ends with holes for the arch trim

no holes for red strip though

I guess I'll have to drill them myself then :D

can someone please provide me a photo of front bumper or count holes/measure the distance between them?

thanks in advance :(

I've recently brought a rear bumper (PH2) from my local Pug dealer, no holes as mentioned above :(

Luckily I had some red rubber strip which I brought from some guy on PSSOC about a year ago, fits perfectly with double sided tape.

But would rather fit my nice new metal trim :D

I'm counting on double-sided adhesive tape too.. did you test adhesion on max speed? :(

...is it just me, I just wouldn't want those strips to fall off :D:P

It doesn't mater where the clips are positioned as long as they are clear of any brackets on the rear :D

Ive not stuck the metal trim with double sided, I had some red rubber strip (looks exactly the same)

Not tried a full speed run yet as its just come out for an mot, i'd imagine it would be ok B)

I am going to drill the holes once I have time and fit the proper metal strip.

I dont think that they are the same material as the original's, they feel diffrent :(

Peugeot buying after market bumpers and selling at full price's :P pahhh...
