GTIAndy 0 Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) The rear suspension on my 1986 1.6 Gti with drum brakes appears to be solid, resulting in interesting handling to say the least, I suspect that it is the rear beam from reading on the forum, I was looking into buying secondhand via ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-205-GTI-1-6-...=item2eacf61f0e 2 questions will any 205 rear beam be suitable for my car and has anyone dealt with this seller before? Thanks Andy Edited May 26, 2010 by GTIAndy
richsmells 2 Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) Clicque You'll need a Gti beam with the same ARB and torsion bar sizes. Either 1.6 or 1.9, but you'll need to swap the stub axles and brake setup to suit your car. I personally wouldn't buy a second one unless you're going to rebuild or exchange for a rebuilt one to keep your car on the road. "Good condition" on a 20 year old beam could mean anything. Having had one rebuilt by Anthony on here for a good price, the difference was night and day. Edited May 26, 2010 by richsmells
