I think for this particular car, it's very dificult to say that!

It's going to be a while (if ever) before a similar spec/age/condition/mileage car comes along and if this is exactly what the would-be buyer wants, it's worth exactly what they're prepared to pay for it.

the big plastic thing in front of the sunroof suggests its not a vacuum, unless someone just put that there

I agree with that its worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, and although its very nice realistically its can't be worth much more than £3500 if that single owner 7000 miles sorrento minter went for £6000-7000

The increase in price can only be a good thing, unless you are buying. Hoping to get £2k for my 1.6 when I sell it.

Went to look at that one this morning with 29k on the clock, and to be honest, it's superb.

I can live with the 'dodgy bracket' on the dash as it's on of those 'period things' and goes with the age/era of the car.

It's got a huge history file, dealer plates, interior is mint, outside has a couple of age relate marks but nothing which detracts from the overall appearance, and after some haggling, is now sitting on my drive. She drives absolutely spot on, brakes true, feels totally tight and is a joy to drive.

Was it worth what I paid? Well that's another matter. Finding unmolested unabused examples of these cars is very hard as I have found out.

Put it this way, to me, it's worth every penny and more as it's the right car for me and ticks every one of my boxes.

Not sure yet. I run the Classic Audi club and we're having a line up of Audi's/Audi quattro's, for the 30 year celebration of the quattro so may be in the quattro instead

Whatever that 7000 miles sorrento green one went for it was more than it was worth.

I went to view that and walked away. Paint was awful and both doors were full of filler. My PTG went from a nice factory 120microns to nearly 700 microns on both doors, not only that, the finish was appalling. Had also been resprayed on the rear wing with the plastic trim still attached. Pretty poor seeing as the previous owner was the son of the Peugeot dealership in Oswestry.

The problem with very low mileage cars, for them to be worth a lot of money, they have to be mint. That car IMHO would have needed a paint job to get it looking right and by doing so, it may as well have 70k on the clock as it'll never be original.

You can respray a car a hundred times but they are only ever original once!

Any plans for the little fella? Even though it's mint things like arch/door trims have been on a while. Maybe worth dropping the bumpers, valance and side trims to check, polish and wax and refit with new fixings.

Get some more pics up when you get chance looks a beauty.

Well done you!

Edd.

There's a few things I need/want to do but not over the top.

It came with new fogs so will fit them this week. I'll be giving it a good detail over the next week as well (perks of the job!), and maybe tidying up the suspension arms etc, but other than that, she'll be coming out on sunny days now and again for the daily commute to work! There are a few age related scratches/marks etc (including a small nudge to the trim on the rear bumper).

Now, for me, these don't detract from the overall honesty of the car. It is what it is, a 2 elderly owner low mileage car plus the chap I bought it off, and some of the marks just add to the overall honesty and character of the car. The bonnet may have seen paint, although if it has, it's been done right from bare metal as it reads an average 125microns across the bonnet which is very much akin to factory finish.

Anyway, I'm off out in her again now! Got a breakfast club event to run!

yeah that engine is spot on, the only oddity is the old engine showed no issues whatsoever, It went to Belgium and back fully loaded pretty much flat out.

If there is no record of any rear beam work its worth getting new seals fitted, if you wait until it makes noises or shows signs of wear it probably wont be rebuildable.

Comes with 70 pages of receipts including the original bill of sale. I'll have a good sort through and see if that has been done recently.
