i found this img in a thread from 2004-2006

its part of the head, i know its number 5 camshaft bearing for the exhaust camshaft.

its to do with inserting a new oil gallery, i cant get my head around the picture though. it seems like the chap has completely dismantled the head. the camshaft bearing 'holders' look like thy have been remove and the work carried out with them out.

does any one have access to a head which they can take a clear picture of this for me please?

Thanks

Aaron

Aaron,

It's a pic of the block-not head. It was an idea by a member (sorry can't remember who atm) to add another drainback hole near #5 main bearing of the 1.9 alloy block.

His theory was that pressure from lateral cornering forces prevented oil draining back from the head to the block.

The main problem was trying to position that hole without breaching the casting.
